After just 19 months, AGROMEX handed the completed development project on Heidelberger Strasse in Berlin’s Alt-Treptow sub-district over to the WBM housing association on 31 January 2017. WBM acquired the construction project from the limited partnership AGROMEX Heidelberger Strasse 75-81, 81 a GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of the AGROMEX Group.
The complex consists of seven houses in terraced development, delivering a total of 159 rental flats and 30 underground parking spots. Virtually all flats are handicap-accessible, and two of the residential units are wheelchair-accessible. Since the project is part of Berlin’s 2015 rental and cooperative housing construction program (WFB 2015)and thus eligible for social housing subsidies, 42 flats will be let at square-metre rents of 6.00 to 7.50 euros.
AGROMEX and WBM are exemplary of a model collaboration between a private principal and a municipal housing company, thereby contributing actively to the creation of affordable housing in central locations of Berlin.
